Polyethylene Glycol Diacrylate(PEGDA)

Polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) is a double-bond modified polyethylene glycol that can be rapidly crosslinked and cured by UV and visible light in the presence of photoinitiators to form adhesives with tunable mechanical properties. PEGDA-based material systems can be used in biomedical applications, e.g., for tissue engineering, bio-3D printing, etc.

Steps for use:

1. Preparation of PEGDA solution (recommended concentration 10-100%)

(1) Weigh the required quality of PEGDA (PEGDA-600/1K is in the form of paste at room temperature, it can be put into a 50-60℃ water bath and heated for more than half an hour, and then take it after it melts);

(2) Take appropriate amount of initiator solution and add it to the above container with PEGDA, and shake it several times until it is fully mixed. (LAP solution is not free in this kit, you need to buy it by yourself)

Curing into glue:

1. Use 405 nm blue light to irradiate the above solution containing the initiator, and the adhesive can be cured in about 10~30 s. (The irradiation time is related to the concentration of PEGDA and the blue light source, and the curing time can be adjusted appropriately according to the strength of the adhesive required);

2. If using 2959 initiator, you need to use 365 nm UV light to irradiate and extend the irradiation time appropriately (LAP is more efficient than 2959 initiator, shorter time), UV light will hurt the skin and eyes attention to protection.

Precautions:

1. It is recommended to increase the irradiation time to get better curing effect. Recommended time: PEGDA concentration ≥ 6%, irradiation time ~ 30 s. 2;

2, it is recommended to use now, avoid repeated freezing and thawing, so as not to affect the performance of the product. 3, the use of 2959 initiator is recommended;

3. the use of 2959 initiator requires higher temperature to dissolve in water or PBS (solubility in water ≥ 5 mg/mL);

4. After adding LAP, the solution needs to be protected from light and the centrifuge tube can be wrapped with tin foil;

5. Our company is only responsible for the quality control of the material itself, and is not responsible for the results of subsequent additional biological experiments and other results unrelated to the quality control of the material itself.
